Win by finding one of every clue type, with two footprint trackways, and capturing two confirmed photographs of Clarence. Photographs now earn a quality score, the Field Guide gives fair directional leads, and active expeditions auto-save so an accidental reload does not erase your hunt.
Clarence remains protected by the spirit of the forest. Every expedition includes one guaranteed territorial-bear encounter with a full warning: run beyond danger or raise the emergency rifle and make the heart shot. Clarence can never be fired upon.

HOW TO PLAY
The forest is larger and the evidence is spread across the south trailhead, Moss Creek, deep timber, and the high north ridge. Find one example of every clue type, a second footprint trackway, and two confirmed Clarence photographs. The live mission score remains visible throughout the expedition. Completing all 11 mission points automatically opens the win screen.
1. Find 2 footprint trackways
2. Find 1 tree structure
3. Find 1 mug, hair snag, handprint, snapped branch, rock stack, and bedding area
4. Capture 2 confirmed Clarence photos
5. Reach 11 / 11 on the live mission score
Every photo auto-saves into the downloadable photo book and receives a 0–100 quality score based on distance, framing, lighting, and the behavior captured. Press G or use FIELD GUIDE for a fair directional clue when stuck.
Every expedition guarantees one territorial-bear encounter after the hunt is underway. The bear enters outside your view and immediately gives a clear eight-second warning before it charges. Run beyond 52 meters to make it back away, or raise the emergency rifle. You receive two rounds. Only a direct heart shot stops the attack; a miss or non-vital hit makes the bear charge immediately and faster. The rifle is locked at every other time. Clarence is protected by the spirit of the forest—the weapon automatically lowers and will never fire at him.
Audio: The original soundtrack changes for day, night, Clarence sightings, bear chases, discoveries, and expedition completion. Use the Expedition Menu to adjust Music and Sound Effects separately.
Desktop: W/S or ↑/↓ move, A/D or ←/→ turn, hold the left mouse button and drag to look, press M only if you want optional mouse lock, hold Shift to sprint, E/F investigates, C takes a photo, G requests a Field Guide lead, K knocks on a nearby tree, V whistles, B screams, L cycles the flashlight, R resets to the trail. The territorial bear has a protected opening period and cannot attack as soon as an expedition begins. The bear gives a 12-second warning before charging. During a bear warning, hold right-click or press Q to aim; left-click or Space fires.
Mobile: rotate the device sideways for landscape play. Use the left MOVE joystick to walk forward, backward, or sidestep; use the right LOOK joystick to turn and look up or down. The default Steady sensitivity reduces oversteering; it can be changed in the Expedition Menu. New expeditions begin at the trailhead facing into the forest. Hold SPRINT while moving forward to run. Use Camera, Field Guide and Investigate normally, and use the temporary DEFEND and FIRE buttons during a bear warning
Field calls: Walk close to a tree and press K. Your character now picks up a stick and strikes the trunk twice. Press V to whistle or B to call. Calls use varied natural recordings and can answer from different directions. Exactly one call in every set of three receives a response.
Menus: H help, J journal. Escape releases optional mouse lock first; press Escape again for the menu
